Depending on the weather and time of day, the colour of the crystal clear water is usually a dark hue of green-blue. This is one of the Greece beaches which most definitely is worth a visit if you are in Sithonia, Halkidiki.

This phenomenal beach is certainly one of the best on Sithonia, and probably the entire Halkidiki peninsula. It is known under several names - Orange beach, Kavourotrypes, Portokali. Kavourotrypes is actually the name of the 5 km long coast and along this coast there's a lot of coves with white sand and turquoise water.

Portokali or Orange Beach is considered one of the most exotic beaches of Sithonia. It is located on the east coast of the peninsula, somewhere between Sarti and Armenistis. Its original name in Greek is Kavourotripes (meaning "crab holes"). You can`t see the beach from the main road but there are signboards that will lead you.

To find these beaches you need to leave the main street of east Sithonia and cross a very difficult dirt road for about 350 meters up to the coastline. There is a group of small beaches which continue from Orange beach to the south to Platanitsi is Almyrompares beach and north to Armenistis is the Kampouris beach (Serbs call it Dukina).

Mylopotamos, Pelion Mylopotamos is one of the standout beaches in the Pelion, a beautiful and underrated part of the Greek mainland. Two sandy, partly organised beaches are separated by rocky arches. You'll have to climb down a number of steps to get to this beach, which has been awarded Blue Flag status for its clean and clear waters.

Beautiful Orange Beach On The East Coast Of Sithonia Peninsula
Great beaches and water for swimming. Free campers set up among the pines. Great view of Mt. Athos. And what's not… Has become overcrowded even in the off season. A little difficult to get to. Access to Orange beach is not so easy. Drive north from Sarti about 10 minutes and you will see the signs on the right for Portokali.
